Ping multiplexing
Another optimization that can be performed is Ping
multiplexing. If a host receives a Ping message, broadcasts
it further and, before receiving enough Pong messages to fill
the cache, a Ping message from another host is received.
Instead of issuing another Ping broadcast the host awaits the
arrival of the expected Pong messages, stores them in the
cache, and responds to both of the hosts that sent Ping
messages.
